From project inception to completion our experienced team can provide recommendations on an effective and functional design.
The frame generally uses readily available standard sections that are purchased from the steelmaker or steel merchant, together with such items as protective coatings and bolts from other specialist suppliers.
Our Kaltenbach CNC cutting, drilling and measuring machines have brought enormous savings to our company. Our fully automated Kaltenbach steel processing systems enable us to process steel more efficiently, improve productivity, reduce man-hours , minimise waste and avoid costly production errors.
Our workshop has an undercover area of 12 000m2 on an 8Ha Site serviced by 8 overhead cranes. Our workshop has a capacity to fabricate 400 tons of light/medium structural steel and 600 tons of heavy structural steel per month and is staffed by a loyal, high-skilled workforce with extensive experience in steel structure fabrication.
Our fabrication facility is designed to ensure all the steel fabrication work we undertake is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Each step of the fabrication process is inspected and recorded to ensure your project is fabricated to the highest possible standards. We are constantly striving to achieve the right balance of efficiency, savings and craftsmanship and we pride ourselves on our commitment to zero defects, first time, every time.
Today, steel is one of the most widely used materials for building and construction, especially for industrial buildings and there are many advantages to using steel for your steel structure.
Steel offers good value for money when compared with other structural materials such as brick and mortar, concrete and even wood. Steel framed building solutions can reduce overall project and building costs making it an appealing option for almost any commercial or industrial building.
Steel has a high strength-to-weight ratio and provides excellent durability for structures even in tough environments that might experience extreme temperatures, high winds and natural disasters. A well maintained steel structure also offers excellent fire resistance and corrosion resistance reducing the lifetime cost of general maintenance and risk during potential accidents.
Structural steel can be used to design and fabricate buildings with more usable space. Longer spans and fewer internal columns help to maximise the available floor space and interior height. This is dependent on the size of the structure, its intended use and the engineering for a specific design.
Once a steel structure has been assembled/erected, the structure can be easily adapted to suit a different purpose. Walls, doors, windows, fixtures and ventilation are all relatively easy to reposition and reconfigure depending on the requirements of the owner or tenants.
Because steel structures are pre-fabricated off-site in a controlled environment, the fabrication process can take place efficiently. Other methods of construction which take place on-site are hampered by factors such as changing weather conditions. The structure is then delivered to site and assembled on-site to specification which speeds up the completion of the final building.
In addition to being a durable material which increases the lifespan of the steel building, Steel is 100% recyclable making it a sustainable structural material and an excellent choice for most large buildings.

At B&T Steel we design, fabricate, transport and assemble large, cost-effective, custom size steel structures. Our quoting process is thorough and accurate, no matter how complex the project, and there are no hidden costs.
Please Note: We do not complete custom size steel structures that are less than 500m2 in size.
